What is a Coloplastvirtue?Health Comments Off

What is referred to by the term ColoplastVirtue? This refers to an ostomy pouching system, which is also known as a colostomy bag. This is a prosthetic device that helps in the removal of waste and other bodily fluids. The most common reasons why such a device is recommended is after major surgeries like colostomies, ileostomies, and urostomies.
These systems consist of mainly two important pieces: namely a mounting plate and a collection pouch. The pouch should be attached by mechanical device or by an adhesive. It is important that the pouch be closed with an airtight seal. The “stoma” is where the waste comes out. When waste is expelled, it drains into the pouch but also protects the surrounding skin from contamination. Remember, these systems are necessary because of the inherent nature of ostomies; procedures in which new openings on the body are created for the expelling of waste. Infection is a major risk that must be addressed. A ColoplastVirtue is one example of such a device.
Needless to say, such a medical impairment is a very difficult issue to live through. It taxes patients and their family members. Patients might be embarrassed or depressed at having to live through such an ordeal. However, it is important to know if a person uses such a pouching system that he or she can still lead an active and normal lifestyle. Some patients who have undergone ostomies can still engage in sports and other forms of high-performance recreation.
While technically considered a prosthesis, an ostomy pouch, or ColoplastVirtue, is sometimes referred to an appliance. Indeed, the pouch is a mechanical replacement for a normal bodily function. Patients who rely on these devices (as well as hospitals that buy such products) may need to provide detailed instruction on how to use them.
